# Connect Munition to your AI app

Munition is a remote MCP server: **paste one URL, approve once, use the tools.** No sign-up, no API key, no install.

```
https://api.munition.io/mcp
```

Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP. Auth: OAuth 2.1 (PKCE S256, Client ID Metadata Documents or Dynamic Client Registration). The first time you connect, Munition shows a one-screen consent page; one click creates an anonymous Munition account for your browser and connects the app. Reconnecting from the same browser reuses the same account and balance.

## Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile)

1. Open **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector** (Team/Enterprise: an owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors).
2. Name: `Munition`. URL: `https://api.munition.io/mcp`. Leave the OAuth client fields empty.
3. Click **Connect**, then **Create my Munition account & connect** on the Munition page.
4. In a chat, enable the Munition tools from the tools menu and ask, for example: "Search the web with Munition for recent x402 news and summarize the top 3 sources."

## Claude Code

```
claude mcp add --transport http munition https://api.munition.io/mcp
```

Then run `/mcp` in Claude Code, pick `munition` and authenticate in the browser.

## ChatGPT (developer mode)

Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → enable Developer mode, then **Create** a connector with URL `https://api.munition.io/mcp` and OAuth authentication. Availability of write-capable connectors depends on your ChatGPT plan.

## Codex CLI

```
codex mcp add munition --url https://api.munition.io/mcp
codex mcp login munition
```

## Cursor and other MCP clients

Add a remote (HTTP) MCP server with URL `https://api.munition.io/mcp`; the client opens the OAuth consent page on first use. Clients that only support local stdio servers can keep using `npx -y @munition/mcp` (see https://munition.io/skill.md).

## Tools and prices

Free: `catalog` (list tools and prices), `balance`, `topup_link`, `get_run` (receipt of a paid call), `flight_booking_links`.

Paid, fixed price per call, charged to your Munition balance (USDC, 1 USDC = $1):

| Tool | Price |
|------|-------|
| `airports_search` | $0.001 |
| `web_contents` | $0.002 |
| `google_search`, `google_news`, `google_images`, `google_shopping` | $0.004 |
| `web_search`, `web_find_similar`, `web_answer`, `flight_offer_details` | $0.01 |
| `web_scrape` | $0.015 |
| `render_pdf` | $0.02 |
| `web_search_scrape` | $0.03 |
| `search_flights` | $0.05 |

Every paid result includes a `run` block with receipt links and the on-chain transaction on Base.

## Adding funds

New accounts start at $0. When a paid tool needs funds, it returns a one-click top-up link (valid 15 minutes) instead of failing: open it, add funds by card (onramp; availability varies by country) or send USDC on Base, then ask the agent to retry. You can also ask for the `topup_link` tool at any time. Munition charges no top-up fee.

## Already using `@munition/mcp` locally?

To use the same account and balance in Claude.ai or ChatGPT, ask your local agent to run the `connect_link` tool (`@munition/mcp` 0.0.16+), open the link it returns in the browser you will connect from, confirm, then add or reconnect the connector.

## Security

- Tokens are short-lived (1 hour) and refreshed with rotating refresh tokens; Munition stores only hashes.
- Each connection is a separate grant; access tokens only work on `https://api.munition.io/mcp`.
- Paid tools are annotated as spending tools so your app asks before calling them.
- Support: hello@munition.io
